Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty,originally our family home, this authentic Andalucian farmhouse has been carefully restored, whilst retaining many original features including it's traditional whitewashed exterior, eucalyptus ceiling beams and hand made floor tiles, and is conveniently located (no dirt tracks!) just off the 7.7km country road ( a breathtaking scenic route it it's own right) which runs from nearby Colmenar, a small white pueblo, known as the capital of the Mountains of Malaga. Only 45 minutes in total from the coast and Malaga airport, Finca Manolo occupies an enviable position on the outskirts of the tiny farming hamlet of el romo, where the local people are genuinely friendly, and the small family run bar is still the hub of the community. This traditional single storey farmhouse, with it's typically Spanish high ceilinged rooms, enjoys beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, stunning mountain views and all day sun!

" Finca Manolo has always been a home rather than just a holiday rental! You will find, therefore, that it is furnished with those belongings, pictures and ornaments that help to create a more personal touch and therefore, contribute to the comfort and enjoyment of your stay. With the nearest shops, banks, bars and restaurants only a short drive away, Finca Manolo is ideal for a peaceful unhurried holiday in an unspoilt and seemingly timeless environment. YOUR ACCOMMODATION Finca Manolo is a traditional long house and the entrance hallway is approached via a long shaded front terrace which looks out over the valleys and hills towards the mountains of Malaga and the former Moorish stronghold of Comares perched up on it´s rocky escarpment. The hallway itself is used as a small ´snug´and is furnished with small wooden side desk and bookcase. We are now able to offer free WIFI internet connection (where it continues to be provided by our supplier) to guests wishing to bring their own laptop computer etc. PLEASE ASK FOR THE TECHNICAL DETAILS IF THIS IS IMPORTANT TO YOU!
The cosy lounge, with original cane and eucalyptus beamed ceiling, has traditional wooden shuttered windows which overlook the pool and front terrace. We have three comfy leather sofas in all seating around eight. We also have a satellite TV, some Uk channels and DVD/CD - small amount of disks available. A logburner sits in the corner but is generally for decorative purposes only! However, Winter guests will receive an initial supply of logs with our compliments. The kitchen has been converted from the old mulehouse and still has the original natural cane ceiling with exposed eucalyptus beams. It’s well equipped with all the usual utensils and dishes, including gas oven and hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, juicer, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. (NB: Additional fridge in the BBQ Kitchen) There is also a separate small/intimate dining room, although this tends to be more for winter use, as most people prefer to take advantage of the glorious climate and dine al fresco! THE BEDROOMS: There are three individually furnished bedrooms; two double bedrooms, both overlooking the front terrace and a further twin bedded room. There is also a dressing room off the Master bedroom with plenty of clothes storage space. This bedroom was originally a sitting room so has the original fireplace - again just for decoration! There is also a shower room with walk in shower, wc and wash hand basin, together with a second shower room with twin basins.
Outside: A larger than average (10 x 5 metre) "Roman end" mosaic tiled swimming pool with walk in steps and mosaic dolphin, takes pride of place amongst a furnished sunbathing area - from which, once again, you can enjoy the wonderful scenery! NB: Please note the pool depth ranges from 1.5 to 1.85m and does not therefore have a particularly shallow end. There is a shaded dining area overlooking the pool plus a BBQ area/ Summer kitchen with sink and gas hob. Guests also have access to the roof terrace for admiring those beautiful mountain views. Our second dining suite sits under this terrace where we often enjoy a cooling Summer breeze. NB. The pool depth ranges from 1.5m to 1.85m and does not therefore have a particularly 'shallow end' OUR "CHILL OUT CORNER" is situated at the end of the terrace and has stone banquette style seating. There are more valley views here and the opportunity to watch the sun go down in the West.
Our Opinion: A good place to relax, unwind, recharge those fading batteries and simply get away from it all - The perfect Stress Buster!
