Pretty Detached 2 bed cortijo with private pool, situated in the beautiful Andalucian countryside just 4km away from the award winning white village of Frigiliana, and a further short drive to the beaches of the old fishing town of Nerja.
Cortijo Benabe´ benefits from an authentic country location, where our Spanish neighbours still harvest the land, grow their own grapes and make their own wine! With superb mountain views, and a tantalising glimpse of the sea beyond, this is a place for those seeking to getaway from it all, but still be conveniently placed for going into the village for meals and tapas, or a day at the beach.
Our house has all mod cons but still retains a rustic feel emanating fromits beamed ceilings, wooden doors and windows and a mix of stone and terracotta floors.
Arranged over two levels, on arrival, a short stone stairway leads you from the private parking area to the the first of several furnished patio areas and the entrance door, which leads to a good sized kitchen dining room with dining suite and modern fitted kitchen with built in electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer. (We also have microwave, toaster and electric kettle!)
Antique double opening wooden doors lead through to the lounge which has a stone firepace and double doors to a juliet balcony overlooking the valley and a stunning view of el fuerte mountain beyond. A futher glazed door opens onto the private lounge terrace from which to enjoy similar fabulous views!
A short, but (please note) slightly steep, staircase leads to the lower floor accommodation where there is a double bedroom with twin beds and a master bedroom with double bed, both rooms have mountain views.The bedrooms share a modern bathroom with bath and overhead shower.From the lower hallway you have access to a garden room which provides a shady chill out zone, with a sort flight of steps also leading back to the pool area.
Outside,the private pool is bordered by a sunbathing area with loungers and raised planters of bougainvillea, fragrant jasmine and dama de la noche. The built in BBQ area has a shaded dining area with mountain views and partial sea view.
Please note there are steps inside and outside of this property so may not be suitable for the very young, elderly or infirm. The final approach to the house is along a fairly level dirt track which takes approximately 2 minutes driving time, usually traversable by normal hire car.
Suitable for couples, small families, birdwatchers, hiking, nature lovers.
The house has a large(3000m2) sloping wild garden which leads to a natural stream which encourages birds and wildlife and is planted with mango and olive trees, dotted with wild herbs and plants. At certain times of the Year, you will hear a symphony of birdsong including nightingales and scops owls........ This is a rural but not isolated location where you can expect other country noises to include goats, chickens, cats and dogs!
The final approach to the cortijo involves a 2 minute drive along a DIRT track road. If you'd like further information regarding access, please check before booking this accommodation.
